Two storytelling events will be taking place in Chaffee County from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Salida and again at the same time on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in Buena Vista.

The two evenings of storytelling kicks off the Storyteller Business Series put on by Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC, featuring host Anthony Poponi. The series is conducted to provide businesses a platform to share their stories with their peers and other community members. Topics such as surviving and thriving as a business in Chaffee County are most likely to be the center of discussion.

The SBDC commented on Poponi, “Anthony loves to make people laugh, and he finds the right balance of humor, insightfulness and wanton disregard for his own self-esteem when presenting or guiding guests through keynotes, trainings or workshops.”

They continued, “Keynotes and workshops coupling actionable content with a high-energy humorist with an onstage presence like few others. His content and delivery will have your group buzzing for weeks and inspired to enact change.”

The storytellers and information for both nights are as followed:

Salida- Tuesday, Nov. 12

The storytelling event will be held at the Boathouse located at 228 N F St. in Salida. The storyteller host for the evening will be Anthony Poponi, talking with impact entrepreneur, writer and speaker, Adrian Reif. Reif’s accomplishments include building mission-driven companies and working with entrepreneurs in building a better world. Reif is a local author of “The Do-Gooders Guide to Investing,” and is a TedX Speaker, and Founder of two companies.

In addition, to light hor d’oeuvres, a cash bar will be available for the event held at the Boathouse in Salida.

Buena Vista- Wednesday, Nov. 13

The storytelling event will be held in the Wesley and Rose Restaurant, which is at the Surf Hotel located at 1012 Front Loop in Buena Vista. Storyteller host Anthony Poponi will talk with the owner of the Trailhead Dave Blazer. Blazer will share stories about his business journey and how he has achieved his recent success in being voted “Best Outdoor Shop in the Rockies.” The locally owned and operated Trailhead has been a leading expert in outdoor knowledge and gear expertise since 1972.
In addition, to light hor d’oeuvres, a cash bar will be available for the event held at the Surf Hotel in Buena Vista.
