District 5 Colorado State Senator Kerry Donovan will be in Salida for a town hall meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23. The town hall is scheduled for Soulcraft Brewing, located at 248 W Rainbow Blvd., Salida.
Those with questions for the senator on the multitude of issues facing the district are encouraged to attend.
A rancher and Democrat, Donovan has been a strong supporter of net neutrality to provide broadband coverage access for rural counties, as well as a supporter of rural health care access and environmental conservation issues.
She serves on three Colorado State Senate committees: the Legislative Audit Committee, the Local Government Committee, and the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Energy Committee.
Donovan has not yet taken a position regarding Colorado House Bill 19-1177 Extreme Risk Protection Orders, otherwise known as the “Red Flag Bill.” The legislative watchdog group Vote Smart indicates that her votes have been rated 100 percent for support of mental health professionals.
