The CPRA- (Colorado Pro Rodeo Association) sanctioned Collegiate Peaks Stampede Rodeo is back June 10 and 11 at the Buena Vista Rodeo Grounds on Gregg Drive. It’s a scene straight out of the Old West – as in 1921 West when the Stampede Rodeo began. The boots and broncos, the roping and bareback riding are probably the same, other aspects have modernized with the times.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children, and will be free for kids six and under. Pre-sold tickets are available at TBK Bank for reduced pricing at $12 for adults and $8 for children.

The VFW is hosting a kickoff dance beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 9. Tickets for the dance are $10, and organizers are accepting cash-only, with kids six and under free.

The rodeo itself will feature events including tie-down roping, team roping, mixed team roping, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, and barrel racing.
