“Advice for Girls” spotlights the collective experience of women in the ski industry. It features an all-women cast and crew with women of all types, including women of color, queer women, women with disabilities, and more.

It focuses on skiers across generations by providing advice from three generations of female skiers. The film’s central message reminds women and girls that they are worthy of success and valuable to the world.

“My hope is that the film will help girls skip over some of the limiting beliefs imposed upon past generations of skiers and inspire them to show up as their truest selves,” explained producer and professional skier Addy Jacobsend.

“Advice for Girls” began as a poem written by Jacobsend and eventually became a crowdsourced Kickstarter project that raised $47,000 to help fund the film. A donation link on the film’s website and ticket sales from the film tour also helped to pay the athletes and crew of the film.
