The Angel of Shavano Recycling Center in Salida will be temporarily closed until November 5 to ensure safety. Salida Public Works and the Parks and Recreation Department will be continuing improvements on Holman Avenue and  at Centennial Park.

The City asks that community members hold their recycling until the center open back up or visit the recycling site in Poncha Springs.

This temporary closure allows the city to create improved access to the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center by increasing parking, increasing ADA accessibility, paving the access road behind the Hot Springs as well as paving and added parking behind the Chamber of Commerce building.
