The community has helped raise $12,235 through the Ark-Valley Humane Society’s Fall Matching Campaign. Their goal is $14,000 and the campaign ends on October 31. As previously reported by Ark Valley Voice, the matching campaign helps support the humane society to provide adoptions, community spay and neuter programs and medical care for animals in need.

Greg and Ruth Phillips along with Bob and Sara McMahon set forth a challenge to the county to help raise funds for AVHS. For every donation made throughout the month, the Phillips and McMahons will add 50 percent more, to a maximum contribution of $7,000.

The Phillips and McMahons are dedicated to this cause and believe in what AVHS does. In 2019 over 890 animals were helped through the services provided by AVHS. Every day the staff work to improve their programs and do all they can to save more lives.

To donate before the campaign is over click here or send your donation to PO Box 1335, Buena Vista, CO 81211. AVHS asks that donors put “Fall Matching Campaign” on the memo line of checks or if you choose to donate online, select “Fall Matching Campaign” under reason for gift.
