The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (B0CC) has a busy schedule for its 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 12 meeting. High on the list of items for review and decision are two public hearings, requests for county funding support, and several resolutions.
Convened as the Board of Equalization, it will take up a request that was continued from the BoCC December 5 meeting. to abate taxes from Outlots 4, 5, 6, & 7 of the Two Rivers Subdivision, c/oTwo Rivers Community Association for the years 2021 & 2022.
Under regular agenda items, the BoCC will consider a request from the American Legion, Ray Lines Post #64, for a donation to the Chaffee County Veterans Memorial at Poncha Springs Visitor’s Center. focused on its recent acquisition of a decommissioned military tank.
The BoCC will next consider approval of 2024 allocation from the Lodging Tax Reallocation Fund to Chaffee Housing Authority, including a related Resolution and 2024 Funding Agreement. This was a previous discussion item from the BoCC’s November 7 work session.
The Bocc will hold two public hearings. the first will be a public hearing and the second reading of Proposed Ordinance 2023-01, extending the Current Ban on Retail (non-medical) Marijuana Establishments, subject to certain specific exceptions.
Among major financial agenda items, the BoCC will take up an item from its December 4 work session, in which they received a request for infrastructure support from the City of Salida for its development of the South Ark Neighborhood.
The second public hearing will focus on the several-times-continued public hearing and second reading of Ordinance 2023-02 for Adoption of the 2021 Building Codes with Chaffee County Amendments, including:

The BoCC will consider two resolutions for approval of board roles:
- Approve Resolution 2023-112 appointing Gloria Broudy to another five-year term on the Salida Regional Library board
- Approve Resolution 2023-114 Appointing Madison Wiedemeier and Kathleen Wiechelman to the Chaffee County North Library Board
In one of its final agenda items, the BoCC will approve Resolution 2023-98 for an Amendment to the 2023 County Budget, as reviewed by Finance Director Dan Short.
