Over the past three months the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Salida Police Department has conducted an investigation into a Salida woman who was suspected of using underage individuals for illicit felonious activities.

Along with these acts, it was also learned that the suspect was selling and or providing illegal narcotics to minors in the Chaffee County area.

This investigation culminated Tuesday, November 21, when detectives arrested Christina Jean Ormsby/Howard, age 33 of Salida and booked her into the Chaffee County Detention Facility.

Ormsby/Howard was charged with the following:

  • Human Trafficking of a Minor for Involuntary Servitude, Class 2 Felony (2 Counts)
  • Unlawful Distribution, Manufacturing or Sale of a Controlled Substance to a Minor, Class 1 Drug Felony (7 Counts)
  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Class 4 Felony, (2 Counts)

Ormsby/Howard is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, this is a continuing investigation, so no further details are available.
