Talent Pipeline Report offers a look into Colorado’s workforce.

The CWDC released its tenth annual Talent Pipeline Report on December 15, 2023. This report identifies areas of opportunity and demand and explores features of the current labor force to recommend economic strategies.

According to the report, Colorado’s economy was stronger than the national economy in 2023 with a lower unemployment rate and higher labor force participation rate compared to the national average. However, the report concluded the need for talent in the job market remains at historically high levels with many employers struggling to find the talent needed for their business.

The CWDC states:

“In order to equip workers and learners with the skills they need to advance and meet the needs of businesses, it will be critical for Colorado to:

    • Strengthen support for employers’ talent development strategies,
    • Increase the availability of career-connected learning opportunities,
    • Improve our state data systems, and
    • Invest in high-impact opportunities for workforce development in areas such as the infrastructure workforce, advanced manufacturing workforce, and rural workforce.”

The Vital Careers Training Grant will help organizations to achieve these goals by supporting workforce development training programs.

More information about the report is available on the CWDC’s website.
