As many know, the free recycling center offered by Angel of Shavano previously located at the Salida Aquatic Center and other parts of the county closed on April 8. The county is currently working on a long-term solution in order to keep recyclable items out of landfills.

The county offers market-based solutions and GARNA is planning to host two events for the public about recycling options. Shamrock Disposal has also announced that they will provide a recycling service. Owner Chris Lyons explained that “We will provide all of our customers a large 96 gallon recycle container.”

“Shamrock Disposal says that it will begin offering recycling starting June 1. The larger container will be serviced every other Friday. The monthly fee is $18 per month which will be billed quarterly at $54. The total monthly rate for both trash and recycling will be $40.00.  We feel that the larger container will offer the best solution for all of your recycling needs.”

Shamrock Disposal is owned and operated by a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. According to Shamrock’s website they “know what it takes to deliver quality service at an affordable price. We take pride in getting to know our customers and their needs. We are honored to serve you.”

Shamrock Disposal serves Chaffee, Salida, Poncha Springs, Nathrop, Buena Vista, Howard, Cotopaxi, Swissvale, and Coaldale.
