Tuesday, November 28 is “Giving News Day,” the day when readers of nonprofit news organizations, including Ark Valley Voice, are reminded that independent, trustworthy, unbiased news coverage requires your support, now more than ever.

The fact is, that democracy needs news, and news needs you.  If you’re reading this, you know that 2024 elections are already on the horizon. With First Amendment protections (including a free press) under threat, democracy needs local news to stand up for our freedoms, and for truth, more than ever; Ark Valley Voice (AVV) needs your support most of all.

Join the NewsMatch to Support Ark Valley Voice Today

Ark Valley Voice makes fact-based news available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. But unbiased and in-depth news stories researched and produced by our professional journalists don’t come out of nowhere: it takes dollars to produce them.

Starting now — through December 31, NewsMatch will double your donation up to $1,000. And new recurring monthly donations will get a little extra love, matching 12x up to the same amount. All you need to do is click on the “Make this a monthly donation” box after selecting the amount.

That means that through NewsMatch, your donation will get us even closer to our campaign goal, which represents a significant amount of our annual operating budget.

Every penny donated to Ark Valley Voice is tax-deductible, and all of it goes to pay our working journalists.

Even if you’ve never donated to AVV before, think about what it means to play a part in giving truth a voice. Think about our role in securing democracy; in a world cluttered by disinformation, marketing messages and campaign slogans, the clarity of truth is a powerful thing.

If you aren’t able to donate, we’re still glad you are a reader — and we keep AVV free so that you can stay informed.

If you can make even a small donation, it helps us to ensure that fact-based news is available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

Democracy depends upon the work of news organizations — in-depth, fact-based, nonprofit, and courageous — in pursuit of truth. For this Giving News Day, we hope that you agree that AVV needs and deserves your support.
