The Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) has multiple upcoming pieces of training to help local nonprofits throughout the county.

From 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. on March 17, it is inviting county residents to attend what it calls Board 101 training. This free program is designed to give current or prospective board members a solid foundation of knowledge on how to best serve their organizations.

Those serving on a nonprofit board or those interested in serving are encouraged to register to learn about the role of boards in nonprofit organizations and how to bring their skills to a nonprofit to further their mission. This workshop is offered regularly, including five more times in 2021. Topics covered include an overview of the role of board vs. role of staff, nonprofit financial management basics and leading from behind skills. Click here to apply.

Also on March 17, from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. Chaffee nonprofits, through a partnership with the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley, can join the “Prioritizing Amidst Chaos” training. Julie Miller Davis will host the event. Davis works with business owners and leaders to reset their productivity patterns, become more efficient and burst through roadblocks to reach their goals. From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on March 25, Jodi Breckenridge Petit will host the Effective Writing Workshop, Part Two. The second session presents seven recommendations to create concise, persuasive sentences. Participants will learn how to increase their grant writing proposal effectiveness. Click here to register.
