With the Ark Valley Voice- Truth Has a Voice Foundation Chaffee Candidate Forum coming up next week, Ark Valley Voice (AVV)  created a poll asking readers to tell us what issues are top of mind for you.  We want to know what is it you expect the candidates running for the Chaffee Board of County Commissioners to address?

Jan Wondra, AVV Managing Editor works with Brooke Gilmore, AVV Reporter preparing for the 2020 Truth Has A Voice Foundation County Commissioner Candidate Forum.

So far the poll is showing that two issues appear to be of primary importance to voters:

  • Focusing on completing the new Land Use Code, so that it and the county’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan actually agree
  • Adopt sustainable policies to protect our natural resources from the impacts of overuse (and/or exploitation), countering the growing impacts of drought, wildfire, and climate change

But — we need your input!  Taking the poll is anonymous — it only records your priorities, not who you are. The current poll comes down on Sunday night, so it’s not too late to participate.

If you’re on a mobile phone, just follow this link. Or if you’re on a laptop or tablet, go to the upper right corner of this page and click on the “Take the Poll” link.

While the list of issues in the poll is fairly comprehensive, you may have other priorities you’d like the BoCC to know about. If issues that matter to you aren’t on that poll list, send a note to  arkvalleyvoice@gmail.com with the email header “This is what I care about”, and we’ll include it in our recap.
