Colorado Mountain College Salida graduates will participate in the campus’s class of 2024 commencement ceremony at 10:00 a.m. at the SteamPlant Event Center in Salida on May 4.

Salida will join graduating students from all 11 of CMC’s campuses at 12 commencement ceremonies on May 3, 4 and 6.

Reflecting CMC’s range of educational offerings, students will receive bachelor’s and associate degrees, certificates of occupational proficiency, high school equivalency, general education, adult high school and workforce diplomas. Additionally, regional high school students in CMC’s concurrent enrollment program will walk alongside graduates to receive their college-level certificates and degrees.

Greg Felt to give keynote

Chaffee County Commissioner Greg Felt, who is also a member of the CMC President’s Advisory Council, will give the keynote address.

Felt is a graduate of Yale University. Gov. Polis appointed him in 2020 to represent the Arkansas River Basin on the Colorado Water Conservation Board, where he currently serves as chair through 2026. Felt has served 14 years as a director of the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District and three years as a director of the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District. He has worked on the Arkansas River as a guide and outfitter since 1985 and is one of the founders of ArkAnglers in Salida and Buena Vista.
