The Chaffee Planning Commission will meet beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 for its regular review session in person in the Commissioners Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Avenue and via Zoom.

The agenda includes only two items; both require extensive time. First on the agenda is a major subdivision sketch plan review, followed by the introduction of Module II of the Chaffee County Land Use Code text amendments.

The agenda will begin with review of the Alpine West Planned Development, which was continued from August 30.
Owned by Stackhaus LLC, (Alex Telthorst), the residentially-zoned parcel is located at 15750 County Road 306. The request is a plan review for a conceptual planned development and Major Subdivision Sketch Plan. The project has been adjusted over the past weeks to allow for more permanently-affordable housing units.

The proposed project is a high-density development near the town of Buena Vista, considered to be on land that could become future town annexation property. The 7.8 acre parcel would allow for the entitlements for 104 new residential dwelling units including 28 single-family units, 70 multi-family rental units and six permanently affordable townhouse-style condos that would be deeded to the Chaffee County Housing Trust. Central water and central sewer would serve the property.
