Friday, October 7 is the Annual Gleaning Day at Colorado Farm To Table, one of the area’s favorite sources for local, Colorado-grown produce. It is located just off U.S.291 across from Scanga Meats.
Gleaning starts at 4:00 p.m. and continues until 7:00 p.m. or sunset. This annual event is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Attendees are invited to pick up a beautiful handmade garden stake, $24 each to support the Farm to Table mission to give those in need.
If you’re planning to attend, bring your reusable bags or wagons and bring the kids. Do note that no vehicles or pets are allowed in the fields. Remember to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants and sleeves.
Remember that the Farm to Table mission is to sustainably grow nutritious vegetables for donation to those in need of healthy food throughout Colorado.
