Buena Vista’s Town Board has a wide-ranging agenda on its hands Tuesday evening, April 27, with plans to discuss funding requests, the first-quarter financial report, development proposals, and fire safety at the regular 7:00 p.m. meeting. A work session will precede the meeting at 6:00 p.m. with board communication policy as the sole discussion topic.

Seeking a funding match, Chaffee County Fire and Chaffee Common Ground will present a plan to patrol and help mitigate fire dangers as a result of dispersed camping.

Water attorney Cindy Covell is providing an update on the town’s involvement with pending water applications by Upper Ark and Young Life, and the plans to stipulate in both cases.

The board also plans to continue the discussion of the potential Triview property annexation, water impacts, and recreation open-space master planning around the rodeo grounds.

Recreation Director Earl Richmond will be updating the board on the town’s Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant requests and will propose how the town can move forward with the pickleball court project, using budgeted Town funds and contributions from the community.

The Board will consider a resolution for a public improvement agreement with Wayfarer Development, LLC for The Farm Subdivision, Phase 2.

Town Treasurer Michelle Stoke will present 2021’s first-quarter financial report, and Airport Manager Jack Wyles is sharing a proposal to pursue selling a Town-owned lot near the airport in order to fund capital projects.
