The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) has a relatively short agenda for its Tuesday, April 11 regular session, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Meeting room in the Administration Building at 104 Crestone Avenue in Salida.

The consent agenda will include their approval of a request for a landfill fee waiver for trash from the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA)  CleanUpGreenUp event on Saturday, May 20, the end-of-month report from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office and approval of the submission of the FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) EOC Grant for the construction of the new North-End Public Safety Complex project.

There is one hearing on the Hearing Consent Agenda. No testimony is expected, but if there is any indication, the item will be removed and considered with the Regular Agenda. The Florence-Garnet Boundary Line Adjustment will adjust the property lines of two mining claims zoned Recreational in the Cleora Mining District: the Garnet Mining Claim and the Florence Lode Mining Claim.

Regular business items before the BoCC include consideration of withdrawing the county’s objection to the Weber Ditch change of use.

Convened as the Board of Health (BOH) it will consider for approval Resolution BOH 2023-01, denying the application pertaining to 16035 Jay Bird Lane, Buena Vista, Colorado, to install a water cistern rather than redrill a well on the lot for construction of a new home. The decision denies a variance to the Chaffee County Onsite wastewater treatment system regulations and water supply standards

Reconvened as the Board of County Commissioners the BoCC will move into executive session Under CRS 24-6-402(4)(b) and (4)(c) for the purpose of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions and to receive specialized detail on an un-named current investigation.
