The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will meet for its regular meeting beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16 at the Buena Vista Community Center, located at 715 Main Street, Buena Vista. The agenda includes resolutions for multiple county boards, the Common Ground Presentation for grant partnership project framework appointments, and a major discussion regarding the potential expansion of Clear Creek Reservoir.

As part of its Consent Agenda, the BoCC will review resolutions for approval of board appointments for the following county boards:

  • Airport Board
  • Board of Adjustment
  • Board of Review
  • Common Ground Citizen Advisory Committee
  • Marijuana Excise Tax Advisory Board (METAB)
  • Transportation Advisory Board (TAB)
  • Chaffee County Visitor’s Bureau

It will also consider recommendations for board appointments and may move to approve resolutions for the Chaffee County Fair Committee and the Heritage Advisory Board.

Also on the regular agenda for the session is the county’s delegate for the Colorado Counties Inc (CCI) Proxy Designation for the CCI Steering Committees and allocation consideration of the 2024 BlueTriton Brands 1041 Permit financial contributions.

The BoCC will also consider an item continued from their January 9 agenda:  the Multi-Year Special Event Permit Application for the Bonfire Bluegrass music festival at The Meadows in Buena Vista.

Around 11:00 a.m. on the agenda,  the BoCC will enter a discussion on the proposed expansion of Clear Creek Reservoir. The discussion will include representatives from Pueblo Water and Colorado Springs Utilities.

Following that discussion, the BoCC will go into Executive Session under C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(b) for purposes of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions involving the proposed expansion of Clear Creek Reservoir.
