A special event at the Surf Hotel in Buena Vista next Saturday, April 15, will feature Masala Eats & Beats.

This one-of-a-kind wine, food, and music collaboration is led by musician and trained Indian chef David Lawrence (the same talented singer/songwriter and founder of David Lawrence & the Spoonful).

He is joining forces with Surf Hotel & Asian Palate to produce a curated Indian-inspired feast which will be paired with world-class winery Klinker Brick Winery. This special wine-pairing dinner will be capped off with a live concert featuring David Lawrence & the Spoonful.

“I personally attended this event last year at the  Asian Palate and it was so very cool,” said Robin Vega. “I can’t say that I’ve ever been to an event where the chef was also the band.”

This evening performance with David Lawrence & the Spoonful features Rapidgrass superstars Coleman Smith and Charles Parker-Mertens, both of whom have recently completed their third tour in India with The Bluegrass Journeymen. Guests can expect to hear Spoonful faves including Americana-roots, blues, and originals, as well as songs that were inspired by Coleman and Parker-Mertens’ travels in India.

The dinner is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the show from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The event takes place in two locations beginning with dinner in the Wesley & Rose and the performance in the Ivy Ballroom inside the Surf Hotel.
