Based on increasing COVID-19 cases in Chaffee County, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) is implementing several restrictive measures, effectively immediately:
-
Visitors are not allowed at this time.
- All patients entering the hospital continue to be screened upon entry. Patients must verbally attest to the absence of COVID-19 symptoms, and temperatures will be actively checked by staff. Patients must enter through the Emergency Department on weekends.
- The Café is now closed to all non-employees.
- The HRRMC Gift Shop is now closed.
- Masks continued to be required at all times when entering the facilities.
Outpatient services are still available at this time. HRRMC continues to follow direct guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). HRRMC will re-evaluate these measures on Monday based on the county’s metrics at that time.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, more changes may occur. Hospital leadership asks that patients check HRRMC.com for the latest updates or call 719-530-2217.
It’s my opinion that this is a bit late but better than never. Now they just need to ban unvaccinated and it would be nice if they would help the health of their neighbors and shut up their all night ventilation system noise. It is hard to remain healthy with no sleep, but our hospital does not care about the 24/7 noise they have imposed on our neighborhood or take complaints of that noise. Snarky employees just toss your complaint in the trash and rudely deny the problem obviously oblivious and uncaring of harm they cause. Our state has no entity to make them care or to oversee their building and our county enforces no rules that harm quality of life such as idling semis and generators and HVAC systems that make recovery from something like COVID or life with seizures an impossibility.
