The Chaffee County Commissioners have announced a deadline extension for letters of interest from Buena Vista residents who want to serve on the resident advisory committee for the Seven Peaks Festival. The deadline for letters of interest is now 10 a.m. Friday, June 28.

This committee will deal with recommendations for traffic flow and control, sound mitigation and noise abatement, lighting, privacy screening and so on. In addition, this group may form the core membership of a working group to establish a county-wide policy and a handbook for special events after the event is over. More information on this project will be shared after the group convenes.

People who served on the committee last year are welcome to apply for this year’s committee, but service last year is not a guarantee of reappointment. The proximity of one’s residence to the event site will be a consideration.

Chaffee County Commissioners say this advisory committee for the Seven Peaks Festival will meet no more than five times before the event. The meetings will include at least one site visit. That visit will be to walk the grounds and provide suggestions to the promoter’s representative on the set-up.

Letters of interest should include residence address, qualifications, and reasons you want to be on this committee. Letters should be submitted via email to pbaldwin@chaffeecounty.org and must be received no later than 10 a.m., Friday, June 28.
