Two upcoming fundraisers will give local citizens the opportunity to support Articipate!, a local nonprofit organization that offers art classes and workshops to children and adults, as well as after-school and summer programs. Local experts teach classes ranging from visual arts and music to cartooning and theater.

Articipate! will be one of the presenters at Salida Soup on Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Salida SteamPlant. This monthly community dinner and “crowd-funding” event gives participants the chance to vote on which presenting nonprofit they want to see funded. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and presentations at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. For more information, visit https://www.gopfca.com/salida-soup/.

Then on Sunday, Sept. 30, Salida Walking Tour will donate a portion of its proceeds to Articipate! Salida historian Steve Chapman offers comprehensive tours of Salida’s historic district, the largest in Colorado. Even those who have lived here all their lives say the tours reveal new and surprising information. Salida Walking Tours are $15.
