On Tuesday, November 1, just a week before the 2022 midterm election, the pace of voting has picked up. The Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder’s Office received 625 mail ballots back on Tuesday, for a total return of 4,796. There was only one in-person voter who stopped by a Chaffee Voting Center on Tuesday.

Active registered voters in Chaffee county who will be 18 years old as of Election Day total 15,635. The voter participation as of Tuesday, November 1 had reached a 30.6 percent return rate. According to Tuesday’s data, across the state nearly 743,000 Colorado voters have returned their ballots for the November election; an increase of more than 200,000 in only 24 hours.

Of the total mail ballots received to date, the party breakdown reveals the highest return rate by unaffiliated voters:
