The Alliance’s thirty-ninth Annual Chocolate Lover’s Fantasy event is right around the corner. The public is invited to the event, which will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at the Mount Princeton Hot Springs Pavilion.

Chocolate creations by QT Cakes, Robin’s Salida, Rosy’s Donuts, Vino Salida, and Ark Valley High Rollers will be the stars of the show. There will also be savory appetizers and live music by the Sad Hands Trio.

In addition to a lineup of silent auction items, there will be a live auction and paddle raiser featuring Dan R. from Heart of the Rockies Radio as the auctioneer.

Single admission tickets cost $40 and can be purchased online by going to AllianceChaffee.org and clicking on the Chocolate Lover’s registration button.

Other registration options include:

  • $100 Bronze Sponsor, which includes social media recognition and two complimentary tickets.
  • $250 Silver Sponsor or $500 Gold Sponsor, which include all Bronze perks with additional recognition on the website, marketing materials, and during the event.
  • $1,000 Platinum Sponsor, which includes all previous perks and two additional complimentary tickets.

This chocolate-centered event supports The Alliance, which is a local nonprofit organization that works to empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through direct service, education, and social change.

All profits from Chocolate Lover’s Fantasy directly benefit The Alliance’s programs and will help the nonprofit to expand services in 2024 to include free, one-on-one counseling for survivors, expanded support group options, forensic nurse exams for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and restorative justice practices to enhance healing and justice options for clients.

Some services that the nonprofit offers are a 24/7 crisis line and planning, legal court advocacy, housing assistance, support group, medical care, referrals, and counseling. The organization also provides Everyday Heroes training to prepare friends and family to respond should a loved one disclose abuse.

According to their website, The Alliance provided services to more than 175 individual survivors of domestic and sexual violence in 2020, provided 1,635 nights of housing to adult and children survivors in 2021, and trained 203 community partners on how to be supportive allies of survivors in the last year.

If unable to attend the event but still interested in supporting the Alliance and their services, they do take donations online. Their website states $25 can purchase hygiene products, $50 gift cards for groceries or gas, and $100 can support one night of emergency safe housing. Custom amounts are also allowed.
