Music begets music. At least that is what Salida Aspen Concerts is planning, as it reaches out to more music teachers about its grant opportunity that closes at the end of this month.

The Salida Aspen Concerts 2024 Music Teacher Grant Program is dedicated to supporting and empowering music educators who are inspiring the next generation of musicians. It has awards of $400 available to teachers of music lessons for K-12 grade students who live within the Salida, Buena Vista, Cotopaxi, or Custer County school district boundaries.

Grant funds may be used at the teacher’s reasonable discretion for expenses related to music programs. These could include purchasing music to be given to students, reducing the cost of music lessons, providing extra lessons or tutoring for students entering competitions or that have upcoming performances, providing enriching musical experiences and activities in the student’s medium, or allocated to assist in the upkeep of an instrument.

According to Salida Aspen Concerts Administrator Anna Hendricks, grants are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis until all funds have been expended, no later than April 30, 2024.
