The Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) is reminding rural nonprofits that focus on the workforce that there is a new round of grant funding available via HB21-1264 to eligible entities through a competitive application process. But the application deadline is coming up: all applications are due by March 28, 2022.

This round of reskilling, upskilling, and next-skilling grants will support rural organizations in facilitating training for unemployed and underemployed Coloradans to earn industry-recognized credentials.  The funding has been provided as part of the economic stimulus package authorized by Governor Jared Polis on June 23, 2021. It seeks to improve outcomes for learners and workers, including underserved populations, by promoting partnerships and helping to prepare Coloradans for well-paying, quality jobs of the future.

501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit organizations who have a partnership with local workforce centers in the Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium (with the exception of the Broomfield Workforce Center) are eligible for this grant opportunity. Multiple grants will be awarded, with a maximum individual award amount of $225,000.
