Discovery Pass has partnered with the Chaffee County Business Bureau to encourage people to take the Chaffee County Has Heart Pledge. As previously reported by Ark Valley Voice, the pledge asks community members to Hang at home if sick, Excel at hand-washing, Always wear a mask, Respect social distancing, and Test if you have symptoms.
Those who take the pledge are eligible to receive a free pass as a thank you for their commitment to keeping the county safe and open.
The winter season Discovery Pass was launched on November 1 with some new features. The pass is valid through April 30 and costs $25. There are currently around 70 offers with a few more to come.
This season’s pass more than $800 in freebies and savings. New this season are multiuse offers, so some businesses are offering their savings more than once, some being three, others being unlimited. There is a max of one redemption per day.

This season’s pass includes offers to local restaurants and businesses as well as winter activities and lodging. These activities allow for social distancing so redeeming them is safe.
Co-creator of the pass, Angel Rowell said “Ultimately what we want to do more than anything is keep our community safe and open, so we did this partnership. We’re here to support the community in as many ways as we can. We are pretty excited about this and look forward to how many people jump on board and be a part of the solution to getting us through this winter in as safe and healthy of a way as possible.”
The pass is for everyone to enjoy throughout the county. “Discovery Pass is for visitors and locals. Ultimately getting people to shop local, especially considering to shop local first this holiday season.” Rowell continued, “There are still so many great opportunities to shop local and consider this before you go to a big box or an online retailer.”
