Solvista Health is ready to recruit entry-level staff as its programs expand at the Regional Assessment Center (RAC) on the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center campus in Salida.

The local nonprofit healthcare organization is hosting an event at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, February 21, at the Salida United Methodist Church, 228 East 4th St., for potential Behavioral Health Workers to learn more about entering the profession. Executive Director Brian Turner explained that the position does not require a college degree or a clinical license; the RAC provides training in-house and sometimes in partnership with entities such as College Mountain College.

Gwen Ferguson, Solvista Public Information Coordinator, said there is an increasing need for help with higher rates of mental health crises and substance abuse.

“…The journey of seeing a person recover and regain their purpose is a passion for those who work in the behavioral health field. Walking alongside a person experiencing a mental health crisis or addiction to a place of recovery is the mission of the team at Solvista Health,” said Ferguson.

The recruiting program will include dinner and a presentation on the opportunities for education, training and career advancement at Solvista. Leaders of the organization will be on hand to answer questions.

“If we can find folks that are here in the community, who really want an opportunity to get into this industry and have kind of a whole career pathway in front of them, we can support and provide training to get them along that pathway. That’s what we’re looking for…” Turner said.

To RSVP for the event, call Julie Anderson at 719-275-2351. Please RSVP by Monday, February 20.  Anyone interested in employment with Solvista Health may apply online at www.solvistahealth.org/careers.
