The public is invited to attend, online, when Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Sean Shepherd addresses the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association (GARNA) at its Oct. 21 virtual meeting.

Shepherd is CPW’s Area Wildlife Manager for the Upper Arkansas valley based in Salida. He has more than 20 years of experience with CPW and has lived in Salida for more than 25 years.

He plans to speak for an hour on the history of CPW, the upcoming hunting seasons, and the new State Wildlife Area Access pass.

Shepherd also will explain the North American Model of Wildlife Management and how it influences the work of CPW wildlife officers and biologists. He then will take questions from people in attendance.

The virtual presentation will take place via GARNA’s website.

GARNA is a Salida-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting conservation through education and outdoor experiences.

GARNA asks anyone interested to register for the event at its website: https://garna.networkforgood.com/events/33501-zoom-lecture-a-night-with-colorado-parks-and-wildlife
